A wedding weekend that feels calm from start to finish

Our Story! 

My name is Allison. Along with my husband, Jim, we are the owners of Bansen Farms.

A few years ago, we purchased this property as a complete fixer-upper — the house, three barns, and the land itself. What began as a renovation quickly became a full transformation, one project at a time.

In the middle of those renovations, life shifted in a way we never expected. I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

With three young boys who needed their mom, I stepped away from my career as a Nurse Practitioner, closing the practice I had built, and turned my focus toward healing, family, and simply being present.

During that season, the farm became more than a project.
It became a refuge.

It was the place where I could create, design, and rebuild — slowly and intentionally — while everything else felt uncertain. The work of restoring the farm gave me purpose, comfort, and a sense of grounding during a time when life felt anything but steady.

After six months of chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation, I am grateful to say I am cancer-free.

That chapter changed how I see everything.

It taught me that life is unpredictable and often messy. That titles and timelines matter far less than moments. That slowing down isn’t failure — it’s wisdom. And that choosing presence over fear is one of the bravest decisions we can make.

Today, it brings us deep joy to watch others gather, celebrate, and create memories here. Bansen Farms spans 20 acres of woods and open fields, but what makes it special isn’t the land — it’s how it feels.

Calm. Grounded. Intentional.

Our hope is that this space offers a sense of peace, beauty, and connection in a world that often moves too fast.
