Our Story!
My name is Allison. Along with my husband, Jim, we are the owners of Bansen Farms. We bought the farm a few years ago as a complete fixer upper. From the house to three barns, we managed to do a complete farm renovation.
In the middle of renovations, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. With three little boys that need their mom, I walked away from my career as a Nurse Practitioner, closing my practice of two years to focus on being a mom and healing.
This is where the farm brought me so much comfort. It was a space where I could become creative with renovations and design.
So many changes in such a short time. Life as I knew it had a whole new meaning and titles took a backseat. After six months of chemo, surgery and radiation, I am happy to say I am cancer free.
Lessons: Life is unpredictable, crazy and messy. Hang on tight. Don’t live in fear, take every breath for what it is worth, don’t rush life, slow down.
It brings me great joy to see people enjoy this magical space called Bansen Farms, encompassing 20 acres of woods and fields. I hope it brings comfort and peace in a world that could really use it right now. It’s more than a farm, this is OUR story.

Needless to say that and our hosts were absolutely wonderful and SO helpful through the entire planning! We are so thankful that God brought us to this beautiful place.
